I want a sony erricson or a nokia n series but they dont have much of a selection for them at the cingular stores. were would be a good place for me to purchase one. please help.

U need an UNLOCKED phone that's GSM-based...meaning it should be able to use a SIM card.

you can go on Nokiausa.com and they have some unlocked ones there for you. They hav a more selections of the n series. but they cost tremedously much more cause there is no subsidy.
